author Working with Bitches/Working with Mean Girls
I wrote the book WORKING WITH MEAN GIRLS (extended & released in the US “Working with Bitches“) to ensure that women who need support can begin to identify some responses that they would be comfortable to undertake in order to cope with a range of bitches in the workplace.
We all may not be able to ‘dish it back’ or meet toe to toe, as some people may recommend. Many women who come for counselling need some strategies for coping that are consistent with who they are and how they function. Self-protection can take many forms, and one form is harm minimization.
While some of the 8 Types identified may share some behaviours with bully girls, others don’t. A particular difference is that mean girls may not have any power or control and may not engage in activity that may cause physical or mental harm. Definitions and meaning are important when I speak with other women.
Check out the “Working with Mean Girls / Bitches” trailer for an intro into the 8 Types, or view my interview with the Huffington Post on the blog post “How do you handle toxic colleagues so you can stress less?”
WORKING WITH BITCHES, USA edition
Available from Amazon etc. and features additional chapters on cross generational issues and how they may contribute to misunderstandings, as well as further thoughts on lifestage and social themes, and extra case studies and comments from successful NOT-A-BITCHES such as Jenny Stephens and Sonya Clancy. As well as hard copy, it is available as ebook.
Thanks to all the women interviewed for my book and to my wonderful friends for your support.
“Fuller isn’t bitching about bitches. Instead, she provides real tools for mapping destructive behaviour patterns among females so you can protect yourself and your career. Instead of choosing between putting up with bitchy behaviours or leaving a workplace, use Fuller’s practical advice to disarm those who are harming you” – Jane A. G. Kise, EdD, author of Intentional Leadership.
